Christmas

For the first time in a long time, we didn't travel for Christmas, but family traveled to us! It was ooohhh soooo nice to not get on a plane.

We didn't do houses this year, but we did make lots and lots of cookies - which we never decorated but ate straight out. The kids rolled out and cut a large number of cookies in various shapes and sizes. Alexander even did a multi-colored cookie with mixed doughs.

When we weren't making cookies the table doubled as a puzzle table. Isabella helped some - she's ok if you give her the two pieces to put together. She's almost got the straight edge thing...

There were, of course, more presents than would even come close to fitting under the tree. (The tree was decorated with the help of Isabella and Grandma's ornaments - it was a bit of a challenge to figure out how to hang them so Ian wouldn't take them all off.) Of course, there were only a small number of presents until Grandma and Grandpa and Nana arrived... It took quite a while to get them all unwrapped.

Ian lasted for most of the wrapping, but eventually had to get tucked in for a nap. He sort of figured out the present thing, but, not too surprisingly, was as interested in the wrapping paper and boxes.
Magic was a popular additional guest, although poor Ian couldn't play toss with his balls with him around. But he did supply lots of licks and was very tolerant of Ian chasing him around.

Mom & dad got a night out as well - yay! Although it had been so long they weren't really sure what to do!
