Betwixt and between

Isabella's dance class had a recital. Her class did a dance to the "Lion King". I was informed (many times) before the show not to be afraid of the lion's roaring, because it wasn't real. They cleverly had the kids do the performance twice - not only could you watch once and video tape the second, but the kids were a lot more relaxed the second time round. Isabella wanted to watch the Lion King when we went home - I didn't realize (until we got to the song) that all she really wanted to do was to listen to the song they did the dance performance to. The rest of the movie was Too Scary.

Isabella has been helping to cook and bake for a long time. This time, Ian decided to help, too. He helped to dump the flour in and to mix the cake up. He was more than happy to help lick the bowl, of course.

It was a bit of a challenge keeping most of the flour in the bowl, and making sure all the ingredients went in (and in measured amounts). But the cake turned out ok, so must have gotten most of it right.

Dad applied some clever decorating skills (with Isabella's help), making up for the lack of ingredients to make frosting.
