Ian wasn't quite so inclined to run around after the cousins, but he was quite delighted to be on the beach and splash in the water. We made a valiant effort to potty train him, chasing around after him with a potty, but it pretty much failed. Although he quite happily informs us that "pee goes in the potty" that doesn't seem to apply to him, personally.
Alexander, Calin and Manny dug some pretty deep holes in the sand, just the right size for small people to sit in. Isabella helped dig a tunnel that was big enough to actually crawl through. Isabella, grandma and I spent a fair amount of time trying to re-direct the local stream by putting lots of rocks and sand in front of it. We succeeded, at least until the tide came up and washed the entire thing away. So much for our civil engineering!
We even made it out body surfing, although it was pretty pointless with the complete lack of waves (a consequence of the lovely weather).
We went on a hike with the cousins and found a Very Large Tree, which had a hole in it that was big enough for everyone to crawl through. They could even climb up on top of it in the back. Ian wasn't so sure about the whole thing, and bumped his head on the ceiling. But he did want to try to climb up the back... Isabella did actually climb up the back along with the cousins.
