Mowing, beach, and baseball

The lawn mower is a bit loud, but Ian wanted to watch dad mow the lawn. Not sure it really helped, but he had fun.

There's been a lot of running through the sprinklers. Well, more accurately, a dash in and out then lots of sitting on towels eating snacks. Ian does not seem particularly interested. In fact, can't get him in the bath, in the pool, in the sprinkler... which is a shame because there's a fun outdoor pool with a nice shallow area. But he just clings and cries. Isabella, however, is actually swimming - goes down and touches the bottom. Her favorite thing, though, is to go around the whirlpool/running river.

We made an abortive attempt to go to the beach. I think the kids had a good time, but it was very, very windy out and cold, so there was a fair amount of sand in the eyes. But the kids did get to build a sand castle or two. We then went to the aquarium, which, while small, is actually pretty good. They have a boat where the kids can "catch" fish, and a glass tunnel to watch the fish swim by. The biggest hit, though, was the ice cream shop. Although it was difficult to resist the salt water taffy.

We went to see the local baseball team play with one of Isabella's new best friends. I don't think the kids were that into the game, but they kept having these overstuffed people in animal suits come out and be funny, which they liked, although the mascot was too scary. After the game the kids got to go run the bases. Around, and around... we went by the dugout and Ian started asking for a baseball. The nice man in the dugout gave him one, and now we need to go get some blow up baseballs because swinging the broom at the real baseball is a bit terrifying for us adults...
