Saturday we went down to the Clayton Art Fair. We didn't actually see any art (it tends to be a bit on the fru fru side) but we did get something to eat. As we were heading back the heavens opened up and poured down rain, so we stopped in the crepe place on the way back. A certain someone is *very* fond of crepes, especially if they have strawberries in them. She's pretty sure you're suppose to eat these things with a fork, but she still hasn't quite got the fork and the food in her mouth at the same time. Although she did a pretty good job of getting the fork in Dad's mouth....Here we are on the way out the door. It's a bit challenging to get
the stroller out the door when she insists upon leaning as far forwards as possible, even when the stroller is tilted back as far as possible. She's starting to nap longer at day care, I think because she doesn't have a day off inbetween to rest up anymore. She slept for a whole hour and a half today - Courtney kept going back to make sure she was still breathing! We're still working on getting her to bed at the right time. I think we were a bit late last night - 9:30 - and that made her tired today. She was back to waking up constantly last night as well. Don't know if it's getting to bed too late, or if her tummy's bothering her, or what. (Her poop was pretty smelly this morning.) We're still trying to get her use to going to sleep and staying asleep. She's pretty good now about drifting off on her own. She keeps cycling through waking up, though - she slept through the night on Thursday, but then went back to waking up.
I need to get her one of those wooden puzzles with pieces you take in and out. She spent a good 20 minutes this weekend trying to get the o piece back in the foam 9. She did it, too. And managed to get the bottle cap back onto the bottle. And putting shapes in her box with holes is a definite favorite.
Her other fun trick is to hand us stuff, or, better yet, feed us. Not sure I really want gummy, sticky crackers, but she thinks it's fun. Tissue paper is good, too. She tears off little bits and gives them to me.
Our evening routine involves crawling around, over, and under us down in the basement, along with a lot of standing up and pushing buttons on the remote controls. It's also one of the few times she'll lie on her stomach. She does a face plant onto the sheepskin then rubs her face around. At first I thought she was just falling over... She can also crawl into the poofy chairs, which is pretty good feat, given that it's waist high. And she likes to go over legs and tummys. Sticking pointy fingers in mom's belly button is also good for a laugh.
She stood up unassisted for five seconds or so. She only really does it in the basement, maybe because it's a softer landing. Seems in no real hurry to walk, although she's doing a bit of furniture crawling now. She's also figured out how to open up one of the drawers in the kitchen, the one with the bottles. Blowing into the bottle makes a cool noise, as does blowing onto the back of your hand.
