We went to visit Jeremy, Wendy, and their little baby Rena today. A mutual exchange of fingers in mouths was required. Isabella had a splendid time sitting in the grass, playing with someone's toys besides her own (especially Wendy's old cell phone) and eating corn on the cob. Rena was looking like she wanted to join in the crawling fun, too, but she's got a bit of growing to do, first (although she's already much bigger than the last time I saw her!)Bill went to JPL and all I got was this hat... which at least stayed on her head long enough to get a picture. Our dome head is starting to get enough hair to protect her from a sun burn, at least on the back of her head.
Isabella's getting faster at the crawling thing. She's also getting more adventurous about how far she goes - I forgot that she can actually make it to the stairs through the front room. Fortunately, she decided to go to the kitchen instead of the basement...She'll stand up, no hands, quite frequently now. She's done a tiny bit of furniture crawling, but usually only when there's something just out of her reach. Seems to really like standing up and walking around me, hanging onto my shirt.
She's slept a bit better the last couple nights - all the way through last night. Although she couldn't quite make it back to sleep this morning, so I had to take her back down to the basement after nursing.
We think we can add "dog" to her list of words. We went to the park yesterday afternoon, and she kept pointing at the dog in the park and saying "do-". "r-dah" seems to be the bird. "Da da" refers to just about everything.... She's also pretty clearly hand-signed "done" after the last couple meals.
I think we're more misses than catches these days. But she does think it's fun to stuff toilet paper down the front of the potty when she's sitting on it. Unfortunately, she wants to reach in and get it out again as well...
