Ian conveniently arrived on his due date, just a few hours after Grandpa and Nana (and Magic the dog) pulled into town. Contractions started in the morning, but we had time to get Isabella to day care, the bird to the vet, go to the doctor's for my regular appointment (she said go walk around for awhile), have crepes for lunch, return the books to the library, tell G&N how to pick up Isabella, but then... my water broke and it was time to zip to the hospital (valet parking, wheelchair up) . Then there was a bit of an ER moment where some young guy wanted to check if I was actually in labor (I was having none of it) and some senior guy poked his head around the corner and said "Down the hallway, now!" followed by the frantic gurney ride. Ian arrived shortly after.
We had a lot of mommy, I don't want you to (hold him, feed him, sit there) and I want to sit in your lap/be picked up. Mostly seems to have stopped, now - she seems ok with sitting next to me, and even orders me to feed him.
She does like to hold and hug Ian, and stick her face right in his. She kept asking when his cord would fall off and he'd get a belly button. And teeth - she asks that every day. And she said she'd help him go potty on the toilet when he gets bigger.
We went to the zoo with Katie's family - they were ever so cute, holding hands and chasing each other around. Too bad I forgot the camera. They rode the train together and shared grilled cheese sandwiches.
