I signed Isabella up for a swim class, mostly so I could go swimming for half an hour and then we can play in the pool afterwards. I got a pair of swim goggles, so of course she needed a pair, too. She hasn't been so keen on the classes when getting ready (lots of mommy I don't want to in the locker room) but once it's done she's bouncing around happily. She actually ducked her head under the water without freaking out. She mostly likes hanging from the railing on the steps like a sloth. She finally got up the courage to go down the small slide on her back and not her tummy.
Incentive structure issues: So she was asking every two minutes if she could watch a movie after dinner (we'd already said yes). We finally told her that if she asked again there would be no movie. Of course, she asked again, which led to much tears and wailing. The *next* night she announces, just after dinner, that she hadn't asked over and over again, so she would get to watch a movie. On the plus side, she's been a lot better about not asking constantly... We also used movies as a motivator to get her to stop thrashing around and crying and refusing to lie down at bed time. I just told her, the night after a pretty bad episode, that she wasn't getting a movie for that reason. She's been really good since then.
If you look really close you can see the two teeth. I looked back, and Isabella got hers at pretty much the same time. Hopefully a little more happy now.
We're going to add another day of daycare. He seems pretty happy with it, although he's only doing 3 20-30min naps. Sigh. Although he made it to 45 minutes on Friday...
We were back at the Magic house again this weekend, and ran into Molly. So Isabella and Molly ran around like maniacs. Kind of nice - just have to make sure they stay in sight.
We are also dog sitting Salvi for the weekend. Isabella took her for a walk all the way down to the post office and back - she held the leash the entire time. Savli's really good on a leash. Mostly gone pretty well, except for a few episodes of barking. But it does get a bit cozy with two kids in the lap and a dog on the feet...
Isabella says she wants to pack up the house and fold it really small so we can take it on the plane with us to California.
