Now that we're in San Jose, we have a busy social calendar. Jay had a party (including many Hapkido buddies from Brown who also live here) at his place. Turns out Jay has rings hanging from the ceiling in his apartment, which are very good for keeping small girls entertained. She can swing on them for quite a while. Of course, now every time we see Jay she asks about the rings...
Jay's place had a pool as well. Isabella's getting quite good at swimming - she can float around either in her fishy ring or on her pool noodles. The pool noodles are becoming a favorite, because she can ride them like a horse, hang off of them, be dragged around on them... She can't quite swim without them, but she keeps trying. She thought it was great fun to push Rowan into the water and watch him fall over.
We took our first camping trip to Big Basin (with Grandma!). Isabella slept in her sleeping bag for the very first time (as opposed to just sort of being covered by it). Ian made do with his "bear" suit. He was coming down with a cold, so fussy at night, but he really likes bouncing around in the tent with the beach ball.
Isabella shared a tent with Grandma (yay!) She was so excited that Grandma had to say "no more talking now" so that she would fall asleep. She slept a *long* time.
Our grand plans of carrying Ian around in the carrier and Isabella walking were thwarted by the fact that a) Ian was fussy and b) Isabella was jealous and wanted to ride in the carrier. So we only made it a mile or so. And some of that was with Isabella riding piggy back on mom. But we did manage to walk to the "waterfall".
We found a bridge that we could throw things off of into the creek, which was a big hit. The twisty turny road was not - constant "I'm going to be sick" cries from the back seat.
Pancakes were also a bit hit. Ian ate at least three himself. Where does it all go?
Of course, everyone was filthy when we got back, so into the tub! Ian likes to hang out and throw toys into the bath tub. The two of them actually take a bath together fairly well, except for Ian trying to get out of the tub.
Isabella can almost wash her own hair, and fortunately, we seem to be past the screaming about water in the eyes stage.
Ian's got three teeth on the bottom now. Where'd the fourth go?
