Around the house

We've decided to put the kids on display. We're experimenting with different display options, such as curio cabinets and cupboards.

In fact, I'm amazed Isabella fits in there, but, well, she does.

Other fun things we do in the house is jump from the trampoline from the big green poofy chairs. The trampoline is also good for reaching the lights, as Ian's found out. Hide and seek is also fun, although Ian hasn't quite got the idea that he should hide and not just point to whomever's hidden.

Cupboards and closets are, of course, also a good place to hide. And jump out of. Ian, of course, is always getting out the broom from the closet and sweeping for us. He's pretty good at it, now, although he's a menace with swinging the big yellow broom around.

Ian also likes to cut up the velcro fruit and butter his own bread with his own knife. Leaves the butter looking like a war zone, but he's slowly getting the hang of it.  And he likes to clean things (with a cloth - he's particularly helpful about cleaning up his own spills). He has also been practicing ironing with the real iron, but we've had to put a stop to that after he figured out how to plug it in and tried ironing the floor (the house has not burned down - yet).

Cooking is still a favorite. Isabella used the sharp knife to help cut up the apples - a fact she's very proud of. And she helped roll out a lot of the dough. Ian helped mix the dough. Only ended up with a couple tablespoons of flour on the floor... it does make measuring a bit interesting, since he doesn't always get the measuring cup full. But he has gotten very good at scooping...

Pancakes are a regular on the menu. In fact, I think Ian would live off of pancakes if he could...
