Spring

 Spring, and thoughts turn to gardening. It was a very warm spring, so we took advantage of it and did some clean up on the vegetable gardens. The kids helped with weeding and planting some seeds (until they got bored). But they kept themselves very entertained on the play structure and running around and whatnot. They now have their very own, kid-sized gardening tools. The rake is actually really handy for raking up in little tiny corners.


March, sadly, was also the month that Molly moved to Seattle. The kids had a last play date at Shaw park, which went really well until, of course, they melted down. Can't recall exactly what caused the melt down, but I'm sure it was something important.

 Since Molly was no longer at CCC, and it wasn't clear that CCC was going to stay open, we shifted Isabella to Ian's day care. The single drop off is *so* nice, and, on nice days, we've been bicycling the kids in. Always remember, if it's below fifty degrees, to put *socks* on kid feet. Sigh.

Isabella took a little while to adjust and make friends, but not too terribly long. She was really excited, until of course, the day came to actually *go*. At which point, she clung and cried. The dynamics at Wash U have turned out to be very different - it's a mix of kids from 3 to 5, with only a few of the older kids. And no wild and crazy pack of boys, or cliquish drama queens. So I think, all in all, she's a bit happier.
