Skiing on Colorado grass

We met grandpa and Nana (and Magic!) in Colorado for a week ski and snowboard trip. Unfortunately, Colorado forgot to supply the snow. There was *grass* under most of the ski lifts. The weather, however, was absolutely beautiful. We spent a lot of time chasing Isabella down the green slopes, though, so the quality of the snow wasn't so much of an issue.

Isabella skied... and skied... and skied, until she nearly dropped. We scheduled a private lesson for the last day, which perhaps wasn't the best timing. She managed to make it through, though, although I think her legs weren't working by the end. It was great learning about exactly what Isabella should be doing. Perhaps the next time around we'll do the private lesson earlier, rather than after she skied all day.
The second favorite thing was the dog house at the bottom of the mountain. Ian, especially, played in and around it for quite a while. The other thing the kids really liked, especially Ian, was riding the gondola up to play in the snow fort at the top of the hill.

Grandpa and Marilee baby sat Ian most of the time. So Ian got to play with grandpa, and help take Magic for a walk. We stayed in a little 2 bedroom, dog-friendly condo. Isabella got to go swimming with Grandpa. Ian is quite fond of Magic.

The last day we put Ian into day care. He was all excited to go to day care, until he discovered that it wasn't *his* day care. Then he got very, very sad.

One of the best things about the resort is they have little red wagons to roll the kids (and gear) in and out of the resort. Helps a lot when you have two tired kids that both want to be carried.
