Small town Forth of July... we hopped on the bicycles and went downtown for the parade (home made floats, bicycles, fire engines, and tossed candy). Of course, ran into one of Isabella's friends while waiting for the parade. After the parade we went to the park nearby and let the kids run around.
The highlight of the day was, of course, blow up inflatables. Bouncy houses. Very large slide, in rather poor taste, of the Titanic sinking. Ian could just barely manage climbing up the thing, but that didn't stop him from going around, and around, and around...And, of course, ran into the next door neighbor at the bouncy slides. By the afternoon everyone had cleared out, along with the lines. Of course, we also ran out of calories and had to go get some lunch.
No lunch is complete without corn dogs. Although I think mom was more excited by them than the kids.
There was music, too, but we didn't stick around for it. The kids (eventually) got tired and we got back on the bicycles to go home.
In the afternoon there was a block party. The kids stuffed themselves on chips and cherries, and played with the toys, which included jump ropes, bubbles, sunglasses, and paddle balls. We got a chance to meet more of the neighbors. Everyone was very, very tired by the time we went home.
