Dad's second solo

We had a party Sunday with some of the folks from the lab. This is David, Tao's son, who's 3yrs and 3mos. They got along pretty well, although there was a little bit of "I want to do that, too!"

Mom went to Pittsburgh, leaving dad to fend for himself. Apparently it went well, although Isabella wasn't too happy the first morning.  And there was much unhappiness when mom came back if either mom or dad went out of sight. But she seems back to her usual care-free self now.

There was an assistant profs picnic Monday afternoon which we took Isabella to. She really liked the balloons - batting them around, watching them float in the air. We took some home, although we popped two on the grass walking to the car. She's still not that interested in actually playing with other kids she doesn't know, but she does like standing on chairs. And watching other kids.

Some newish words: zip and zipper, spin, good morning birdie, all done, slippers, pants.
