I had to pick her up early a week ago Thursday because she was running a fever. She finally got back to sleeping through the night about a week ago, although she still insists on getting up at quarter to six in the morning. Yawn. Although she's slept a lot this last couple of days - 3 hours on Mo
nday, two long naps on Saturday (well, we all ended up taking long naps) but she made up for it today by sleeping only 20 min at day care.
We're working on decreasing the munchies by lots of distraction and "after we do..." in the interests of Bill surviving the 3 days he has her in Brechin without me. Don't know if she just wants attention or what - I don't think she's getting much out of it, except in the morning. Mom's getting real tired of being a moo-cow :).
This weekend was move the mulch pile weekend. Isabella helped by grabbing handfuls and spreading them around, helping (insisting?) on
carrying the bucket and pulling the wagon. And she spent a fair amount of time playing inside of the car. She picked up lots of the fallen plums and collected them in a bucket. Wasn't quite so keen on walking around barefoot, even for a second (try putting a child down while they're busy pulling their feet up to their ears!).
Music class is going pretty well - she answers the cd in the car sometimes, with a zoom! or a ding! and once in a while demands the next song (that one took me a while to figure out). I try to sing some on the bicycle ride in, when I'm not out of breath. She's still quite happy sitting in her green seat, helping to steer. I'm in trouble when she figures out how to shift.
We seem to have gone backwards a bit with the potty thing - she'll go if she has to, but isn't asking. Although she's been dry most mornings, which is pretty impressive. The babysitter has a lot better luck than we do... Although we did get an "uh oh diaper" today, but I think that was because it had come undone, not because it was dirty.
Her favorite book at the moment is "Fix it Duck", which she asks for by name. Don't know if she likes the story, or just likes to hear "fix it duck!". She does ask for a few books by name "Jungle book", "Rhino book".
I picked up a few toys from Ken and Sally, who were cleaning out their house in preparation for moving. She now has a cabbage patch doll, a small keyboard which plays such favorites as "Twinkle, twinkle...", which she will press over, and over, and over again, saying "Twinkle" each time. She has learned to blow into the harmonica. She also got some more stuffed animals, one of which has a wind up key and plays Mary had a Little Lamb.
I think she's finally getting the idea of turning a shape to fit it in a hole. Definitely has the idea of buckles - she carefully puts the buckle straps in the right place in the stroller/high chair before asking to get in, then picks up the buckle pieces and says "push".
