Camping in Missouri

I'm a bit behind here... this is the weekend before last. The weather was really nice, so we went out to Cuivre river for the weekend. There's a lake there with some sand (which looks like it was carted in from elsewhere...) Isabella had fun splashing around in the water and stomping on sand castles. We chased after some tadpoles and saw a giant stick bug. The water was pretty warm, but I don't think I would want to go swimming.

She was quite keen to walk up the 114 steps back to the camp ground. She actually made it up most of them without help.

The campground was full, and a bit too noisy. But the camp host was pretty good about going around and getting people to turn their stereos off.
Isabella needs her own camera. Here she was insisting on getting her own picture taken (after taking several pictures of her shirt, the floor...)

Tents are great. She sits and plays with her doll, the blankets, the clothes...

We went on a short hike on Sunday and saw some real horses. She was a bit more keen on the *thought* of horses than the reality. One woman stopped to let Isabella pat the horse, but the horse tried to eat Isabella's cracker which freaked her out. But she kept demanding to see more horses.

She's started to say "I no like". No like this song. No like my car seat. My favorite phrase is "Isabella need chocolate milk, feel better". She's also started to demand her pacifier all the time. Not sure why - she hasn't used one before, but suddenly she wants it all the time. Sometimes two at a time.

On the drive home she practiced her banshee wail. For the entire drive. I think she learned to scream from someone at day care. We can sometimes get her to scream quietly, but she doesn't always cooperate.

She's also keen on baby doll these days. We went for several walks - she likes walking, too.
