Feb 15th

Feb 15th-19th

Snowboarding! Flight out went well, although she didn't really sleep so I had to nurse her most of the time. Caught a big poo in the family bathroom just before the flight, despite some idiot spending a lifetime getting out of the bathroom. Had offer of help for getting stuff to the counter from a nice lady (with kids) sitting in Burger King. The check-in lady coo'd over Isabella (and remembered us when we got back!) There was another couple with a baby on the plane, and their baby made more noise than ours. Ha.

Took *forever* to get our luggage and the car. Isabella went to sleep in the sling on the way to the car rental place. Got her into the car seat (with its brand new snugli sheepskin) without waking her up too much. Both of us slept on the way up to Frisco.

Bed was too small at the hotel, so it was a rough night - every time I moved, Bill moved too. Didn't do too bad EC'ing at night; missed a pee the first night and an evening pee or two the other nights. Just rinsed the diapers out and left them to dry. Caught most of the morning poos in the sink. With the sleep change she woke up much more frequently than usual. It was nice to have a kitchen, though. We fell asleep early every night; but she woke us up by 7 or so every morning
so it worked out.

First day we tried Keystone. Weather was terrible (shut I70). We hung out in a coffee shop for a while - she got lots of attention from the mom and grandma types. No real place to change her in the bathroom, but we did get a poop out. I had a few runs, but she started screaming so Bill ended up in the car. Bill got a few runs in, then they shut the lifts due to high winds. Kind of a disaster.

Second day we went to Copper Mountain. Beautiful weather, and a much more friendly resort. Lodge was right at the bottom of the lift, so it was really easy to swap out, although the cell phone tower was damaged in the wind so we couldn't call each other. There was another couple
there with a 5 month old doing the same thing. A handful of other people had babys, but they brought along non-skiers. Had to do one poop change in the car - that's a pain.

Spent third and fourth days at Copper Mountain - note to self, buy 3 day pass instead of waiting in line each day. Sunday was much busier (Saturday the highway was closed part of the time). Got so the lodge staff knew who we were. Got lots of friendly attention. Got some babysitting from a church group from, of all places, Missouri.

Dad pooped the baby in the family bathroom :-). Mixed luck with the EC thing in the lodge - the bathroom was a couple minute hike away. Had to clean a few poopy bottoms. Used disposies during the day - they are vile. Can't tell if they're wet, really.

She really liked looking at all the people. More interested in that then the toys. Has been popping off a lot recently when feeding - more interested in what's going on. She's also grabbing my shirt (and breast).

She had some problems on the drive back to Denver, probably due to pressure changes. Kept waking up every half hour or so and screaming for a while.

Forked over the $200 to get back to St. Louis Monday night. She screamed a bit before passing out on the flight back. Then she slept through the bouncy landing, the lights going on and off, getting the luggage, getting into the car seat and going home.

Didn't have any way to play white noise, which didn't help with the no-sleep thing (we were both snoring, apparently). Maybe that's why she was up every hour?

Been picking away at the craddle cap. About half gone.

Going through security on the way back we got coo'd at by the security bag guy and the police man. Scared poor Bill (who had been pulled out for a security scan) when the nice police man came over to play with the baby.
