She's officially crawling. Not very fast or very far, but we can't put her down without her chasing after us. She's doing a three point scoot most of the time, and has developed a bit of a rug burn on her calf. Here's a picture of her headed for the bookshelf. So far she's just pulled a couple of books off the shelf. I've been trying (!) to teach her to be gentle with books. We'll see. Hopefully we won't have to cover all the bookshelves with plastic....
Dad and Marilee helped with the baby proofing process. We now have a couple lovely plastic doors over the electronics cabinets upstairs and down. They also got to play with Isabella, taking their turns as human jungle gyms. Her favorite thing to do in the evening now is to crawl around in the basement and play pull-up on mom, dad, the green chairs, the table... in the last few days she's gone from being wobbly to actually letting go for a few seconds and standing unassisted (!) Still no interest in cruising, though. The best part is - we can watch movies again! She doesn't seem interested in the TV. So we get an hour or an hour and a half before she gets tired (no, I don't know where she gets the energy!)
She's also figured out how to clap, and thinks that's Really Cool, especially if everyone else claps with her. And she's back to doing her Queen Elizabeth wave, but now at things when she drops them and they roll out of sight...
She's still not sleeping in large chunks, although last night was a bit better. We both have head colds (I have baby snot smeared all over my clothes, something I'm sure you didn't want to read). She's slept in until 9 the last couple mornings, which is going to be problematic because we have a 6am flight tomorrow morning...
Gotta go, we still have some packing to do for the trip to the beach house. Here she is, helping (?) me pack the suitcase.
