Long time no internet

Charter cable has not been our friend; our internet has been in and out for the last several weeks. Hopefully it will stay in.

Isabella got a bit more adventurous at the playground last weekend. She went over the bouncy bridge (needed some help, because it was too steep to do on her own) and through the tunnel. Also tried to leap off the 4 foot platform...

Isabella got really sick last week - they made us take her out of day care. Which left exactly one healthy (sort of) baby. Bill spent the next two days sleeping with the sick baby, 'cause he was sick, too. She got all better, only to come down sick again today, just in time for Grandma's visit :(.

She's learning some new words. She now knows "bean" as in Jelly Bean, as in please get me a Jelly bean from the jar, which now lives on top of the bookshelf... She's getting pretty good with "eyes", and we think she's saying a version of "thank you" now, too.

She's got a couple books now that she wants to "read" over and over again. One of them is Lucy Cousin's "Farm Animals", which has just big pictures of animals and the name of the animal. She likes it so much we had to renew it from the library... I also tried out a book full of animal baby pictures, and she really likes that one too. She points out the animal's eyes. And, of course, the great favorite with the caterpillar - it has holes that she can stick her fingers in.

We're starting to get sloppy kisses. She starts out real slow, leans toward you, then kinda bumps her head into you. Not easy to tell from a head butt ;-). She's also hitting a bit now, too, and throwing things, which we are working to discourage.

Shoes are still a big favorite, although she's pretty close to outgrowing her brown ones. She's eternally fetching them, asking to have them put on, then back off... And she's quite happy to get your shoes for you, too, although she doesn't always want to let go...

Sleep is getting better. Several nights now we've actually put her down not quite asleep and she's sung/whimpered herself right to sleep. And I think last night was the 4th night in a row where she only woke up once! Yay! That said... Although she's been waking up soaking wet because she insists upon drinking half the bath water before going to bed.

We are getting fussing before going in the bath - I think she's figured out that means bed time's coming. She likes brushing her teeth - well, eating the kid's toothpaste off the toothbrush.

We're getting more "just like mom" behavior - several mornings she went to the basement gate, asked to go down stairs, into the back room - and picked up the can and watered the broccoli plants I've started. She's a bit unclear about how often you should water them, though. She's also a bit unsure about this dishwasher and washing machine thing, too. Sometimes the clothes go in, sometimes they go out... She did clean the lint filter for me, though, and made sure I put the dish washing detergent back before turning on the dishwasher. She can also follow simple directions to put stuff away.
