Too much snow?

 So our first trip had no snow (scrape, scrape) but our second trip almost had too much snow! The drive up went well, until we went to put on chains. Took us 20 minutes to untangle them, with to cranky no-longer sleeping children in the back of the car, followed by an extra hour of driving. But we did eventually get there.

It was very, very cold out on Saturday. I spent most of my allocated snowboarding time digging myself out of powder. Ah well. But the kids had fun going outside and playing in the snow, even if poor Ian had to wear Isabella's old snow suit.


We did try some sledding (this picture is actually from the sledding we did on our no-snow trip). I put both the kids in the sled and towed them around the driveway in front of the house. Tried sliding them down the hill, but there was so much snow (and it was so powdery) that they didn't go anywhere (but I did sink in up to my thighs). Isabella had a blast falling down and making Isabella prints in the snow on the deck. Isabella towed Ian around as well for awhile.

Our grand plans of going snowboarding together were thwarted by Ian being born two days too late. We rushed to get everything in the car and the kids to Sierra At Tahoe in time for Isabella's lesson. Only to find out we couldn't put Ian in day care because it was 18 months and up.

We drove back to the house (easier to look after the little guy) only to remember that Isabella had no sunscreen on. And of course they won't put any on. So back we went. Found Isabella and put sunscreen on. Chased after Ian in the picnic area - he adopted a woman who was eating lunch up there. Just walked up to her and asked to be picked up (she worked with small children, it turns out - go figure).

We did get to see Isabella ski a bit. She got mad when she went down hill, turned, and ended up going backwards...
