Oregon, Grandparents, and tummy bugs

Ian came down with a tummy bug a couple days before we were to go to Oregon. Got sick at night, we tried bringing him in when he felt better, but (twice) he lost breakfast shortly after having it. So I was at home for several days with Sick Boy while trying to get ready for traveling to Oregon.

And, of course, he got sick on the flight up to Oregon. Fortunately, he hit the floor for the most part. Then gave it to me. Ah well.

This is from the raptor center. Ian was absolutely enchanted with the owls. He kept saying "bye bye owl" and pointing at the owl and saying "owl". Didn't quite get the finer points of raptor versus owl versus falcon, but he definitely got the idea of "bird".

Grandpa and Nana took the two kids while we gave talks. The kids had a grand old time, playing in the play area at the mall, eating ice cream, and heading out to the "cabin" in the woods.

We're a little short on pictures, but we had an excellent time walking by the river, chasing around and around the circular garden, and swimming in the warm water. Isabella helped with puzzles and made cookies. And, of course, ate pancakes and bacon.

We tried to go a waterfall, but there was still snow and Isabella had a mini-meltdown. We did manage to see the waterfall, then tried to let the kids sleep on the drive back. Well, Isabella slept....
We had dinner with Lara at a pizza place. Bill took the kids home the next day. I flew home the next day, and cleverly managed to lock my wallet in the rental car, so it took me a *long* time to get home.
