Isabella kept talking about Santa Cruz, so at the last minute one afternoon we piled the kids in the car and went off to the beach. It was, shall we say, not so warm. Isabella, of course, ran around with her toes in the water (and her swim suit) until she literally turned blue with cold. She found another friend to run around with, and they got even more cold and damp.
Ian did dabble with is toes in the water a little bit, but mostly sat in mom's lap or poked at the sand.
We did, of course, ride a few rides. The carousel (Ian sat on a horse, Isabella rode, mom made sure Ian didn't fall of). Isabella was too short to reach the rings, but the nice carousel man pulled several rings off of the thing for Isabella and another little girl to throw at the clown face after the ride.
We went round the "roller coaster" a few times. It was, if possible, even more boring than the other kiddie coasters I've been on, but she liked it enough to go around twice. Unfortunately the log ride was shut down or we would have done that one instead.
We also had corn dogs and a funnel cake.
Also turns out they close pretty early, and everything shuts up, ride and food and all. So back home we went. A little bit sandy and wet.
