Oh so far behind

Where to start... It's officially fall, and finally cold. After much complaining about her purple jacket we managed to get it on her and go outside. It being fall, there are lots of leaves to jump in. And she can now jump - both feet leaving the ground and everything. She's very proud of it. "Jump higher!" 

She's gotten very fussy about jackets and clothes. "I'm too big!" (I put one on her that was a bit tight, and now she picks out a jacket or a sweater, we start putting it on, and she calls out and starts to cry. Sigh.  Then there's getting the right shoes, the right shirt...

She's started asking for specific things - "Go to the climbing gym, have fun!", "Go to music class", "Go to the zoo, ride the carousel". And she can remember doing things a bit better (riding the tiger on the carousel, seeing giraffes at the zoo). She's even started demanding to have a happy birthday soon...
We went down to Eckert's "fun farm" before Halloween to get pumpkins. Turns out they have a whole little county fair thing there, with pony rides and an airplane ride and a long, long slide. She really liked the airplane ride, and did pretty good with the pony, too. We went and picked apples and picked out our pumpkins. Isabella ate an entire apple all by herself. She wasn't so keen on feeding the goats, although she did let the goat lick food out of her hand once.

I spent some time making Isabella a bunny costume like her multi-colored bunny. Only to have her scream "I'm too big" when putting it on. Sigh. So she went in her ordinary clothes. She did like the trick or treating thing - there were lots of people and houses on our street open with decorations and costumes. One house was scary enough that I had to carry Isabella up. Rena and Wendy came with us (Rena at least wore her costume). Of course, every morning now it's "Want some Halloween candy". 

We've been doing some painting. Well, it's paint brushes and paints and water, with some attempt at putting it on the paper. 

There was also a halloween party at the Clayton Child Care center (the preschool). They had bouncy castles and slides, and a pony and a pony cart. Isabella liked the pony cart more than the pony, and really liked the blow-up slide. Up and down and up and down. 

We've had a few more no-nap or close to no nap days. Although a few weeks ago she must have had a growth spurt because she was sleeping a lot. One night she slept for 16 hours (she didn't want a nap and didn't want one, and I finally got her down at 4 - and she didn't wake up again).

Almost forgot b-day wish list:

Socks, size 6-7. SmartWool had some great thick socks with dots on the bottom; don't know if they have larger sizes. (Dots on the bottom are very helpful.)
