Someone's getting a whole bunch of new teeth. There's a forth on the bottom and lots of pointy things in the upper gum - it looks like the first of the molars, although the eye teeth haven't shown up yet. We think that's what's making her so miserable at night. She's back to waking up every hour and a half or so.
She's been hugging her toys again, particularly the bunny and her soft, fuzzy penguin. Her other favorite thing to do is to sit in the "big people's chair", and play with the stuff on the table. Or sit on the couch - she gets something, goes to the couch, and asks to be lifted up on it. She seems to think that collapsing on the cushions is great fun. She's been very demanding this week - pointing at everything and saying "more". She wants up. She wants in the chair. She wants down. She gets the cereal box out of the cupboard and wants a handful. And boy do we hear about it if we tell her "no" for some reason.
That said, she did very well on Friday when we went to buy a new car. She sat and played either in our laps or in their waiting room (which did have a kid's toy in it) for about four hours, all told. All without a nap - she never fell asleep in the morning, and only got a short nap on the drive back from the dealership.
She's been practicing picking up her toys with the diaper - or she puts the diaper down, puts a toy on it, then rolls the diaper up around it. Who knows. Here she's taken my head band and fastened it around her neck like a bib - she is quite keen to figure out how bibs work, in addition to socks and shoes. We have a bit of signaling going on - she has, several times now, walked into the bathroom and demanded "up" when she had to go. Not reliable, but a start - good thing, too, because she's pooping 3-4 times a day now, for some reason. I guess all the food that goes in has to come out somewhere...
She definitely understands some simple commands/statements like "it's bath time" or "go get daddy". And she's got the context thing down - if mom gets on her shoes, she has to get her shoes and jacket and goes to the door.
